Gracie's 3rd birthday began with a little pat on my hand and an announcement: "Mommy, it is light outside and it is time to get up!!!" Her Grandpa and Grandma Crawford spent the night with us so they were here to celebrate first thing in the morning. Gracie got to open a coloring book and stickers at breakfast and had great fun. She spent the morning playing hard with her grandparents and repeatedly denying she was now 3..."No...I still 2!"
We went to my parents' house about an hour before her birthday party began and she got to open another little small present to keep her entertained while waiting for company.
Gracie got to put three candles on her 'My Little Pony' cake. We noticed as the party wore on before we cut the cake that more and more little finger smears showed up in the icing...she couldn't keep her fingers out of it!!!
She had a really good time opening her presents. When there were just about 3 or 4 presents left, she got kind of tired and started giving the presents to other people for them to open up for her...she wanted the stuff in the present...she just didn't want to do the work of opening the present!
Michael and I got her a book called "The Jesus Storybook Bible." I highly recommend it! It is just perfect for her age and has amazing pictures...in fact, it was probably the 3rd or 4th present she opened and she wanted to look at every single picture before moving on to another present! It took us several minutes of convincing for her to move on!
This was Gracie while we were singing to her. She sang right along with us!
This was soon after the party was over in her Nana's arms. She was worn out after her great party!
In the middle of the present opening she looked up at everyone and said, "This is a 'bootiful' day!" We all got a kick out of that...How could it not be a 'bootiful' day when you get to eat cake, ice cream, and open a bunch of presents?!!!
