Easter Cookies

We have been doing lots of Easter things this week. My goal this week was to introduce the whole concept of Jesus dying for us and raising back to life and how amazing that is....and then I tried to explain the whole concept of "dying" to a 3 year old. So, we are still reading lots of Easter stories and talking about it but now we are focusing on the angel rolling the stone away from the tomb and Jesus being alive and in our hearts. She knows that Jesus loved everybody and didn't do anything wrong, that some people didn't like Jesus and were mean to him, and that He was sad while He was on the cross, that He surprised everyone when He wasn't in the tomb, and that He lives in Heaven with God. I think that is pretty good for a 3 year old. She told me today that when she woke up last night in the middle of the night she didn't get scared because "Jesus is always there." Isn't that sweet?
Today we baked Easter sugar cookies. It was an ordeal because she wanted her hands in everything, but she had lots of fun. We were actually preparing them for tomorrow..my mom, Michele, and Jay are coming over for dinner and to watch Gracie and Michaela color their Easter eggs so we made the cookies for dessert.
