Today marks the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Hre is just a little peek into the development of the babies that sadly continue to be aborted every day:

By week 5, the heart is beating.

In week 6, the larynx is starting to form, blood circulation is well established, adn upper and lower limb buds appear.

By week 8, the baby develops his or her's first sensitivity to touch.

In week 9 ,the baby has elbows!

By week 12, the baby's has developed his or her reflexes.

By week 13, all of the baby's teeth have formed.

Between 13 and 15 weeks, a baby's taste buds are working and the baby actually swallows more when the mother has been eating something sweet and less when the mother has been eating something more sour or bitter.

By week 15, many babies start sucking their thumbs, and scalp patterns are developing.

Week 17, the baby can hear outside noises and may even startle at a loud sudden noise.

Week 18: The fingerprints are forming.

Week 24: The baby is almost fully formed and even has a chance of survival if born at this time.

Week 29: The baby is beginning to regulate his or her own body temp.

Week 35: All organ systems have been present for a long time, but they are putting on their finishing touches.

Abortion is not ridding the body of a thing or a piece of tissue. It is ridding the body of a growing and developing baby...a baby who God has a plan for.

If you live here in Springfield, this month is a "baby shower" month for the Pregnancy Care Center over on National Street by St. Johns. The Care Center provides couseling and help through the entire pregnancy especially for younger mothers. They provide ultrasound services so that mothers can see early on in the pregnancy pictures of their baby. Studies show that the rate of abortions go down when mothers and/or fathers get the chance to see their baby. They see a little person, not a little thing. They are collecting diapers and wipes to give to their patients. Please consider dropping a package of one or both to the center anytime this month. Go to: www.pccchoices.com to learn more. If you don't live in Springfield, these Pregnancy care centers are becoming more and more widespread and you may even have one in your town. Please consider dropping off baby supplies, a monetary donation, or even volunteering some of your time.

And, on this awful anniversary, say a prayer for our nation...that more people would take a stronger stance on this issue, that the number of people saying, "I don't agree with it, but I don't have the right to tell someone they shouldn't do it." would start decreasing and that more people would speak out with love in order to save the lives of more precious babies.
