I know the Snowmageddon of 2011 has been terribly inconvenient for many people...but, I have loved it! Michael just happened to not have to go to school Tuesday-Thursday anyway, which was good b/c those three days got canceled from the snow. He was supposed to go Friday, but they cancelled that too. So, by the end of the weekend we will have all 4 been able to be together for 6 glorious days. The girls have been so good, Michael and I have gotten to sleep in a little bit, and we celebrated my big girl's 6th birthday today! I am more proud of her every day...she loves Jesus so much, is such a good helper to us, is *mostly* patient with her little sister....overall, she is a joy.
Yesterday, the girls had such a fun time playing in the snow. Here are some pictures:
Today even though we were all snowed in we decided we had to do something fun for Gracie's birthday. So, we went and picked up Gracie's lunch choice, ChickFilA, and brought it over to my parents house for a lunch with Nana and Papa. We made birthday brownies and had a good time visiting and playing. After that, we went to go pick out Gracie's birthday gift....a CAT! She has been so excited. As soon as we walked in she saw the one...a little 3 month old orange and white cat who is adorable and very sweet. We played with him a little bit and asked her if she wanted to play with a few others. She wasn't interested...she had found the ONE. Her plan was to name a boy cat Frankenstein, but she said he was too cute for that name. The shelter had given him the name Marmalade because of his color, and b/c I think they thought he was a girl, and now she thinks that might be a good name for him....even though we are pretty sure he is a boy. We are going to have to clear up that confusion when we go back to pick him up tomorrow...they keep him overnight to neuter or spay. She said this was her best birthday ever which warmed my heart.
Tomorrow we are going to have another fun snow day and Saturday we are having her family party. She requested breakfast so that's what we are having....should be a fun time! I am so thankful for my sweet little girl who really isn't all that little anymore...but let's just ignore that little fact okay? It makes this mama's heart feel a lot better to be in a bit of denial.... :)
